Renewables

OsecoElfab’s purpose is to protect life and provide solutions for a cleaner, safer world.

One of the most prominent ways we pursue this goal is to invest in solutions for renewable energy applications.

As energy technology advances, OsecoElfab aims to partner with industry leaders and provide solutions for a cleaner world and future.

We welcome conversations with leaders in the field of renewable energies to explore project opportunities.

Biomass Energy

Biomass is a renewable source of energy using organic material that comes from plants and animals. More countries are using more biomass fuels for transportation and power as a means of avoiding carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel use. Rupture discs are typically used in biogas holders, biogas holder flare stacks, boilers and condensers.

Geothermal Energy

Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source that harnesses heat from inside the earth. People use geothermal heat for bathing, to heat buildings, and to generate electricity. Rupture discs are typically used in heat exchangers.

Hydroelectric Energy

Hydroelectric energy harnesses the power of water in motion to generate power. Used around the world, hydroelectric energy is the most commonly used renewable source of electricity. Rupture discs are typically used in generators and transformers.

Solar Energy

Solar technologies convert sunlight into electrical energy through photovoltaic panels or through mirrors that concentrate solar radiation. This energy can then be used to generate electricity, or be stored in batteries or thermal storage. rupture discs are typically used in polysilicon manufacturing for solar panels, li-ion battery farms, solar heat gathering systems, heat pipes used to transfer solar energy and boilers.

Tidal Energy

Still in its infancy, tidal energy is a renewable source of energy produced by the surge of ocean waters during the rise and fall of tides. This method uses special generators to convert tidal energy into electricity.

Wind Energy

One of the fastest-growing renewable energy technologies, wind energy is used to produce power using kinetic energy created by air in motion. This kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy using wind turbines or wind energy conversion systems. Rupture discs are typically used in hydraulic braking systems in wind turbine controls, li-ion battery farms, generators and for compressed gas storage.

Hydrogen

Hydrogen can be produced and used without any toxic pollutants or CO2 emissions — its only byproduct is water. It burns clean when mixed with oxygen and can be used as a source of heat or to power an internal combustion engine. Rupture discs are typically used in high-pressure storage tanks and to transport hydrogen.

Hydrogen storage

Hydrogen gas is not an energy-dense fuel, so it can be difficult to store enough gas to power a fuel cell equipped car over a practical range. However, storing hydrogen in liquid form increases its density and involves dealing with extremely low temperatures and high pressures. Rupture discs are therefore specified to provide a high integrity, fail-safe, pressure relief device. The relieving capacity of the device should be sufficient to prevent system pressure raising 10% above the max allowable operating pressure.

Common Applications
